It’s not unusual to have more than one Gmail account. Maybe you use one for business and one for your personal correspondence. Perhaps you use one for a hobby, such as couponing, or for a side gig. Whatever the reason, Google makes it easy to move between multiple Gmail accounts.
Managing multiple accounts using Shift
Shift makes toggling between your various Google and other email accounts as simple as clicking your mouse.
When you sign into Shift for the first time, you’ll be asked to enter an email address, select a color to identify that address and verify the address. After creating your primary Shift account, you can add as many addresses(Gmail, Outlook and other supported types) as you’d like.
If you are already using Shift and want to add more email accounts, click here for an animated how-to guide.
After they are added, you’ll see colored icons on the left column of your dashboard. Simply click on the icon of the address you want to use.
How to easily switch between multiple Gmail accounts
Don’t worry if you are not a Shift user; Google still has a way to manage multiple Gmail accounts(no Outlook support, however). To switch easily between your Gmail accounts, you need to link your accounts.
The following steps will guide you through the linking process:
1. Open your browser and sign into Gmail.
2. Click on your profile picture, located in the upper right-hand side of your Gmail dashboard screen. A new window will pop up.
3. Click on the “add account” button within that new window.
4. Enter your second Gmail address in the box and type in that account’s password.
5. Click on “sign in.”
6. Repeat as many times as necessary.
Once all of your Gmail accounts are linked, you can switch between your accounts by clicking on your profile picture and selecting the account you wish to access from the drop-down menu that appears. It’s that easy!
